NDLEA arrests Turkey-bound businessman for excreting 120 wraps of cocaine

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has struck a major blow against international drug trafficking, arresting a 42-year-old Angolan businessman, Mbala Dajou Abuba, at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) while attempting to smuggle a large consignment of cocaine to Istanbul, Turkey.
Abuba, who allegedly ingested 120 pellets of the illicit substance, was intercepted at the screening point while boarding an Egypt Air flight. Over seven excretions, he expelled 1.829kg of cocaine. The suspect confessed to switching from the logistics business to drug trafficking.
Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives thwarted multiple other trafficking attempts, including a businessman in Lagos concealing cocaine in car parts, a suspect transporting 5.4kg of cocaine in a Sienna bus to Imo State, and a Canada-imported vehicle stuffed with 128 parcels of high-grade cannabis at the Tincan Seaport.
Additionally, massive cannabis farms were raided in Delta and Edo states, leading to the destruction of over 50,000kg of illicit crops and the arrest of multiple suspects. Other operations across the country led to the seizure of large quantities of tramadol, skunk, and other narcotics.
NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) commended the agency’s officers for their relentless fight against drug syndicates, emphasizing their commitment to tackling both drug supply and demand nationwide.
