Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has been struck by another heartbreaking loss just 24 hours after the passing of his mother. The Governor’s eldest son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, tragically lost his life in a fatal car accident on Saturday.

Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, confirmed the incident. Abdulwahab was reportedly traveling from Kafin Hausa to Dutse when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to somersault. The young man died at the scene, leaving the state in shock and mourning.

While Abdulwahab succumbed to his injuries instantly, his friends, who were traveling with him, survived the crash but sustained varying degrees of injuries. They are currently receiving treatment at Dutse General Hospital as the state grapples with the magnitude of the tragedy.

The remains of Abdulwahab have been transported to Kafin Hausa, where he will be laid to rest. This double tragedy has plunged Jigawa State into mourning, with condolences pouring in from across the country to the grieving Governor and his family.
