Christmas: MRS slashes petrol price to N935/litre,
MRS Oil Nigeria Plc has announced a nationwide reduction in petrol prices to N935 per litre at all its retail outlets, following a strategic partnership with Dangote Petroleum Refinery. This comes after the ex-depot price was slashed from N970 to N899.50 per litre.
The company has taken swift action to implement the new price, launching a monitoring system to ensure compliance across its outlets and urging Nigerians to report any station that fails to adhere to the directive.
“Petrol is now N935 at all MRS Filling Stations. Report non-compliance via 08009447853 or NG-FMKPMGWHISTLEBLOWING@NG.KPMG.COM,” the company said in an official statement.
This move has sparked excitement nationwide. In Lagos, commuters queued at MRS stations, lauding the company and its partner, Dangote Refinery, for making high-quality, eco-friendly petrol more accessible.
Mrs. Ibukun Phillips, a customer at an MRS station on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, described the price cut as a “gift of the season.”
“This is a big win for Nigerians,” she said. “Not only is the petrol cheaper, but it’s also of superior quality. My family is now committed to using MRS stations exclusively.”
Commercial drivers echoed similar sentiments, noting that the price reduction would ease transportation costs, especially during the festive period.
Public affairs analyst Dr. Tunde Akanni called the partnership a “game changer” for Nigeria’s downstream oil sector.
“This collaboration is a significant step towards affordable, high-quality, and environmentally friendly fuel for Nigerians. It’s a win for the economy, the environment, and public health,” Dr. Akanni stated.
With this bold step, MRS Oil and Dangote Refinery are setting a new benchmark for excellence in the Nigerian oil industry.
