In a bid to ease transportation costs for Nigerians ahead of the festive season, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in the ex-depot price of premium motor spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, to ₦899.50 per litre. This was disclosed on Thursday by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group.

“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of its PMS product to below ₦900 per litre, providing much-needed relief for Nigerians,” Chiejina stated, emphasizing the refinery’s commitment to supporting citizens during the holiday season. This latest price cut follows a previous reduction to ₦970 per litre on November 24.

In addition to the price reduction, the refinery has introduced an innovative consumer incentive. For every litre of petrol purchased with cash, consumers can receive an additional litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank. This offer aims to further alleviate the financial strain on Nigerians during the holiday rush.

The Dangote Refinery, Africa’s first privately-owned facility of its kind, has also reaffirmed its dedication to providing top-quality petroleum products that meet environmental and engine standards. By eliminating the importation of substandard fuel, the refinery is transforming Nigeria’s market landscape, ensuring safer and more reliable energy solutions for consumers nationwide.
