Job Title: Senior AI Engineer

Locations: Abuja (FCT), Abia, Adamawa and Lagos (Remote)

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior AI Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join our fully remote team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing AI models and algorithms that drive innovation and solve complex problems within our applications.
You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to build scalable, efficient AI solutions that enhance user experience and optimize business processes.

Key Responsibilities

AI Model Development:

Design, build, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models for a variety of business use cases.
Work with large datasets to train, fine-tune, and optimize AI models to improve their accuracy and performance.
Implement state-of-the-art algorithms for natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, recommendation systems, or other AI-driven applications.
Data Analysis & Preprocessing:

Preprocess and clean raw data from various sources to prepare it for AI model training.
Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Work with data engineering teams to ensure data pipelines are optimized for AI workloads.
Collaboration & Integration:

Collaborate with backend developers to integrate AI models into production systems and applications.
Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to understand the business requirements and translate them into AI solutions.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior AI engineers and data scientists, helping to elevate the team’s capabilities.
Performance Optimization:

Optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and efficiency, ensuring they meet production standards.
Implement model monitoring tools to track AI model performance over time and make adjustments as needed.
Research & Innovation:

Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and deep learning technologies.
Conduct research to explore new AI methods and technologies that can improve existing systems or drive new initiatives.
Contribute to the AI community through research papers, blogs, or open-source contributions.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in AI/ML engineering.
Strong proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
Extensive experience with deep learning models, such as CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, or transformers.
Strong knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training techniques.
Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Google AI, Azure ML).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
Familiarity with model deployment, versioning, and monitoring tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow).
Preferred Skills:

Experience with NLP, computer vision, reinforcement learning, or other specialized AI fields.
Knowledge of distributed computing and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Familiarity with data pipeline tools like Apache Kafka, Airflow, or Luigi.
Strong mathematical and statistical background, with experience in linear algebra, probability, and optimization.
Experience with model explainability and fairness techniques.
