BREAKING: Falana and Falz Demand Public Apology from Bobrisky Over Alleged Defamatory Bribery Claims

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, musician and activist Folarin Falana, also known as Falz, have demanded a public apology from popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky. This follows Bobrisky’s claims, shared through viral audio recordings, alleging that Falz had been approached to help secure a presidential pardon for him, involving a N10 million bribe to Falana.
In one recording, Bobrisky alleged that he asked Falz for N3 million to arrange preferential treatment at Kirikiri Correctional Centre. He further claimed to have paid N5 million to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria as part of the deal. These allegations were spread online through recordings shared by media critic Martin Otse, aka VeryDarkMan.
Falana’s legal team has categorically denied these accusations, stating that they are baseless and defamatory. In a letter dated October 14, 2024, Falana’s lawyers demanded a retraction and public apology for the false claims, asserting that the accusations have severely damaged their clients’ reputations both locally and internationally.
The letter warned that failure to comply with the demand within twelve hours would lead to legal action, including a suit for damages. The Falanas maintain that no such conversations or payments ever occurred and accused Bobrisky of spreading the falsehoods for personal gain.
