Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, has announced his indefinite leave of absence from his official duties due to a worsening medical crisis within his immediate family. In a memo addressed to the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Ngelale expressed that this difficult decision came after days of intense consultations with his family.

“This agonizing decision was made after significant consultations, as a vexatious medical situation has worsened at home,” Ngelale stated, highlighting the urgent need to prioritize his family’s health.

Ngelale’s absence will affect his key roles in the administration, including his responsibilities as Presidential Spokesperson, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.

Acknowledging the weight of his decision, Ngelale remarked, “While I fully appreciate that the ship of state waits for no man, I must prioritize my family during this trying time.”
