Don’t blame us for your inability to participate in NYSC, JAMB tells HND graduates
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed claims by HND graduates blaming it for their inability to participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). JAMB’s spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, stated that the board has no involvement in the admissions process for Higher National Diploma (HND) candidates and is not responsible for their NYSC eligibility.
Addressing the allegations, JAMB clarified, “The Board is only responsible for undergraduate admissions, National Diploma, and Nigerian Certificate in Education courses. We have no authority or control over HND admissions or NYSC mobilization processes.”
JAMB’s response came after prospective NYSC candidates alleged that their inability to join the mandatory one-year service was due to JAMB’s involvement. The Board emphasized that it had no role in the admissions of students into HND programs, adding, “Their subsequent HND admissions are unknown and irrelevant to JAMB’s mandate.”
The statement warned that some of the accusations have crossed into criminal territory and will be appropriately addressed. JAMB urged the public to disregard these unfounded claims, reiterating that it has no business with HND admissions or NYSC-related matters.
