BREAKING: President Tinubu Approves N70,000 Minimum Wage for Nigerian Workers

President Bola Tinubu has endorsed a new minimum wage of N70,000 for Nigerian employees, promising to revisit the national minimum wage legislation every three years to ensure it remains relevant.
During a meeting with leaders of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Abuja on Thursday, President Tinubu pledged to explore ways to support the private sector and sub-national entities in implementing the new wage standard.
This announcement marks the second time within a week that President Tinubu has engaged with TUC and NLC leaders, demonstrating his administration’s commitment to addressing workers’ welfare.
The president’s initiative aims to enhance the living standards of Nigerian workers, ensuring that the new minimum wage keeps pace with economic realities and provides a fair income for all employees across the nation.
