In an interview with Arise Television, former Labour Party Vice Presidential candidate Yusuf Baba-Ahmed criticized Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, stating that his intellect does not entitle him to insult others.

Baba-Ahmed’s remarks follow Soyinka’s comments deeming Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi unfit to lead Nigeria. Soyinka had accused Obi of failing to control his supporters, who were allegedly attacking those with opposing views online.

Baba-Ahmed dismissed Soyinka’s comments as distractions and emphasized the importance of maintaining dignity and respect. He recalled Soyinka’s past insults toward late General Abacha, suggesting that intellect should not be used to demean others.

“I could say a few things to Wole Soyinka that could destroy him for good, but I wouldn’t,” Baba-Ahmed added, urging people to focus on more pressing issues.
