Rivers crisis: Defected lawmakers can’t return, PDP insists

In a bold move, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that the 27 lawmakers who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State have kissed their seats goodbye for good.

The PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, minced no words in slamming down the party’s stance, debunking any rumors of a backtrack. According to Ologunagba, the party stands firm on its decision, emphasizing that these defections constituted a serious breach of constitutional integrity.

This assertion comes amidst swirling social media speculations about a possible reversal of fate for the defected lawmakers. However, the PDP isn’t budging, citing legal grounds in a lawsuit filed at the Federal High Court Abuja.

The message is crystal clear: no turning back, no second chances. It’s a showdown of political wills as the PDP demands bye-elections and seeks to permanently restrain the defected lawmakers from ever reclaiming their erstwhile positions
