‘Nigerian men intimidated by successful women’ – Actress Ms DSF
Nollywood luminary and media personality Dorcas Shola Fapson, also known as Ms DSF, has observed that many Nigerian men grapple with insecurities concerning their masculinity.
During her appearance on the Bahd and Boujee Podcast, hosted by reality star Tolanibaj and actress Moet Abebe, Ms DSF shared her experiences of encountering men who felt threatened by her achievements.
She emphasized the necessity for a “very secure” man to fully embrace and support successful women.
Ms DSF remarked, “Being successful, beautiful, and having everything going for you can indeed be daunting for many men. I’ve had numerous male friends express to me their sense of intimidation.”
“It truly requires a deeply confident man to champion, uplift, and love a woman who is flourishing in her endeavors. Because, in this scenario, it’s not about me proving my worth to you; rather, it’s about you demonstrating what you bring to my table. You need to elevate your game and match my standards.”
She added, “This demands a considerable amount of strength from a man, both in terms of his masculinity and his ability to not perceive a successful woman as domineering.”
