Wike brought misery, grief, anguish to Rivers – Secondus

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, voiced his concerns on Saturday regarding the ongoing political turmoil in Rivers State, attributing it to the self-serving agenda of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, Secondus accused Wike of being the mastermind behind Governor Siminalaye Fubura’s political woes. He claimed that Wike, as the former governor, brought suffering and despair to the state, alleging that the Minister has failed to bring any federal projects to Rivers.

Secondus asserted that Fubura’s falling out with his former mentor occurred when he decided to put a stop to the exploitation of the state’s resources. He pointed out that the current political crisis stems from the desire of certain individuals to have unrestricted access to the state’s finances, a demand Fubura refused to comply with.

Expressing disappointment in Wike’s tenure both as governor and now as Minister, Secondus questioned the lack of federal projects attracted to the state under Wike’s leadership. He accused Wike of driving away investors with his harsh policies during his governorship.

Secondus emphasized that despite their support for Wike’s political career, they have received nothing but disrespect and insults from him. He called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and urge Wike to cease exacerbating the political tension in Rivers State, allowing Fubura to govern effectively. He concluded by asserting that Wike owes his position to the people of Rivers State.
