In a harrowing attack that sent shockwaves through Kogi State, bandits unleashed chaos upon the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTEC) in Osara, Okene.

Under the cloak of darkness, armed assailants descended upon the campus, catching students off guard as they diligently prepared for their upcoming exams. Eyewitnesses recount the terror as the bandits stormed lecture halls, brandishing weapons and instilling fear with reckless gunfire.

As the university community grappled with the sudden onslaught, some students found refuge in the nearby bushes, forced to wait in anxious silence as the chaos unfolded. The brazen raid, strategically executed, resulted in the abduction of several students, leaving families distraught and the campus community reeling in disbelief.

Despite assurances from authorities, including CUSTEC’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulraman Asipita, the true extent of the tragedy remains shrouded in uncertainty. With key officials inaccessible for comment, questions linger about the security measures in place and the fate of those abducted in the dead of night.

As Kogi State grapples with this latest act of violence, the resilience of its people is tested once again, underscoring the urgent need for concerted efforts to safeguard educational institutions and protect the future of its youth.
