Dozens trapped as building collapses in Kano

An undisclosed number of individuals are presently ensnared in the wreckage of a collapsed building in the Kuntau region of Gwale Local Government Area, Kano State. Reports suggest that approximately eleven people, primarily workers, are among those trapped beneath the debris.

The precise cause of the building’s collapse remains elusive, prompting local authorities to commence a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Excavation efforts are currently underway, with several bodies already recovered.

Emergency response teams from both the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the State Fire Service swiftly mobilized to the site, endeavoring to free those entrapped within. Amidst the frantic atmosphere, two individuals have been successfully rescued from the ruins and promptly conveyed to nearby medical facilities for urgent medical attention.
