In a heart-wrenching incident, a bustling Wednesday morning turned into chaos as a commercial vehicle, commonly known as Danfo, careened off the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. Amidst the chaos, two passengers, a male and a female, were flung into the murky waters of the Lagos lagoon.

Confirmed by Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Coordinator of NEMA, the crash involving the 18-seater bus with registration number FKJ 872 YA sent shockwaves through the city. Witnesses reported the driver’s reckless speed, leading to a catastrophic collision with the bridge rails.

Now, the Marine Police are spearheading a frantic search operation to locate the missing passengers, while the injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.

As the city grapples with the aftermath of this harrowing incident, questions loom over safety measures and the fate of those lost in the depths of the Lagos lagoon.
