The University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, plunging patients and staff into an unprecedented crisis. The renowned medical institution finds itself ensnared in darkness, grappling with a total power outage that threatens to derail critical healthcare services.

Following a bitter dispute with the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), UCH has been disconnected from the national grid, a move triggered by an alleged accumulated debt surpassing a staggering N400 million. However, conflicting figures emerge, with the hospital management vehemently contesting the owed amount, citing their debt at N241 million.

Essential medical services have ground to a halt, with patients forced to seek treatment elsewhere.
