Terror Financier Tukur Mamu Issues 7-Day to AGF to Retract Claim
Tukur Mamu, the publisher of Desert Herald Newspaper, has issued a stern demand to the Attorney General of the Federation. In a letter dated March 25, 2024, Mamu’s counsel gave a seven-day ultimatum to retract the label of Mamu as a terrorist financier, failing which legal action will be pursued.
The letter highlights Mamu’s ongoing trial on terrorism allegations and condemns the unauthorized publication by the Nigerian Sanctions Committee. Mamu’s counsel argues that such actions violate the principles of natural justice and undermine the judicial process.
Emphasizing Mamu’s right to the presumption of innocence, the letter demands an immediate retraction of the publication within seven days. Failure to comply will result in legal recourse.
Mamu’s plight underscores the importance of upholding legal processes and protecting individuals’ rights in the face of unsubstantiated allegations.
