Abuja and Kogi Hits Darkness as Power Station Collapses

Published

on

Residents of Abuja and pockets of Kogi State find themselves in the grip of a power crisis, courtesy of technical glitches plaguing the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company.

Areas like Zamani Estate and Abacha Road Mararaba are among the casualties, as a fault on the 33kv feeder k6 from AT9 Karu Transmission Station leaves them in the dark. Meanwhile, planned maintenance on power transformers in the Okene Transmission Substation adds to the turmoil, threatening electricity supply to Okene, Kabba, Ososo, and Ikare.

Despite hopes raised by a new 100MVA power transformer in Port Harcourt, summoned by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, over the worsening power situation, citizens remain in the shadow of uncertainty, with blame games echoing amidst the blackout.”
