Lagos Community Gripped by Fear After Explosive Incident Rocks Neighborhood

Currently, Lagos residents and motorists are in a state of panic due to a suspected explosion involving a gas tanker in the Iju Ishaga area of the southwest state around 10:15 pm on Tuesday, February 13.
The exact number of casualties is unknown at this time, but emergency responders are on site for rescue operations.Fear has spread among the residents of Iju Ishaga, Lagos, after a significant explosion occurred late on Tuesday, February 13.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the explosion and advised residents to remain calm. The explosion, caused by a cooking gas cylinder in a store, led to a severe fire affecting buildings at Ogun street, Balogun bus stop.
The southwest coordinator of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, verified the incident.
NEMA emphasized the need for calm and reassured the public that the situation is under control with the assistance of the Lagos State Fire Service after a cooking gas cylinder explosion following a power restoration.
