“I Didn’t View My Previous Marriages as Failures”: They’re Not Failures, But Steps Toward Growth Funke Akindele Narrate
Funke Akindele, the powerhouse Nigerian filmmaker and actress, openly discussed her separation from JJC Skillz. While her recent film, “A Tribe Called Judah,” grabbed attention, Funke’s life journey has seen both successes and challenges, including two marriages that didn’t quite work out.
In a candid conversation with Joyce on Wazobia, Funke shared insights into these life events and explained why she doesn’t perceive them as setbacks. According to her, failure is merely a stepping stone to success, drawing an analogy to a child learning to walk – stumble, fall, but rise again.
In her own words:
“Failure, challenges, obstacles – they’re all part and parcel of life for me. My mom instilled in me that without stumbling, there’s no soaring. So, I view it as an ongoing journey. Personal challenges, like marriage, I take in stride. Mental health is a priority, as is my career. I’m here to make an impact, empower others, and inspire the youth. I’ve got to stay resilient for my family. I may shed tears, hit lows, but when I face that mirror, it’s a silent ‘Keep moving.'”
Funke Akindele isn’t just a star on the screen; she’s an unyielding force, scripting her life’s narrative with resilience and purpose.
