The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has officially started the registration process for the 2024/2025 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). The registration period, which began today, January 15, will continue until Saturday, February 24, 2024. This announcement was made by the JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, during a meeting with media executives in Lagos state on Sunday, January 14.

Oloyede assured a smooth registration process and highlighted the accreditation exercise to validate the suitability of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide. Candidates are required to create a profile using their National Identity Number at authorized CBT centers. Profiles can be generated through JAMB USS codes 55019 or 66019, and only one sort code is allowed to prevent multiple charges.

The registration fee is set at N3,500, and JAMB encourages a cashless payment system to prevent extortion. A total of 747 accredited CBT centers have been announced, marking a significant increase from the 613 approved centers in 2023. The distribution of accredited CBT centers for UTME 2024 indicates that Lagos has the highest count with 80 centers, followed by Ogun with 44, and Oyo with 42. Zamfara has the lowest count with 6 centers, while Ebonyi and Kebbi each have 8.

Oloyede emphasized, “Prior to the commencement of the registration exercise, the Board conducts an accreditation exercise to check the suitability of each CBT Centre for the conduct of its examination.”
