In an unprecedented move to expand its global footprint and extend a helping hand to nations in need, the Nigerian government is rallying its skilled professionals for the 2024 Technical Aids Corps (TAC) recruitment drive. This initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to empower Nigerians to share their expertise across borders, fostering connections and aiding nations lacking resident diplomatic missions from Nigeria.

This call to action extends to lecturers, medical professionals, technical experts, and artisans willing to devote two years to offer their services in Africa, the Caribbean, and Pacific regions, along with multilateral organizations. The criteria set by the Federal Government emphasizes the importance of educational qualifications, requiring Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees in education, alongside specialized degrees in medicine, engineering, and artisanal disciplines.

With an eye on building sustainable partnerships, this initiative seeks to harness Nigeria’s vast reservoir of talent and knowledge, establishing a meaningful exchange that benefits both Nigeria and the recipient nations. The scheme, operational for an impressive 36 years, has already sent 2,500 TAC volunteers to countries such as Benin Republic, Belize, Ethiopia, and Ghana, among others, garnering approximately N26 billion in funding since its inception in 2009.

As the application process commences, aspiring candidates are encouraged to submit their credentials, including CVs, certified educational certificates, and proof of service, to the Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The avenue for online application via info@dtac.gov.ng ensures accessibility for potential volunteers passionate about making a tangible difference on the global stage.
